Joe Colliton and John Oslin, owners of Five Star Signs, Inc. in Howell, MI, recently completed a project that they were very excited about. Joe and John are Michigan State University alumni and one day, out of nowhere, they got an internet request from Icon HD, a company that does large projects with LED signs at universities around the country. The company was working on a project for an addition on the the Breslin Center, which is the basketball arena for the MSU basketball team, and was in need of some different signs.
Five Star Signs supplied a 10′ x 14′ banner, a 10′ x 59′ banner and some wall graphics. While they were there, Icon HD asked if they could install some dimensional letters that were ordered as well. Joe and John’s team spent 2 full days on site installing the wall graphics, the stud mounted dimensional letters and the two large banners. While they were busy with all that, they were also asked to install 32 wall plaques and a small channel letter sign on the Spartan for Life wall display. Five Star Signs needed to come up with a lot of creative ways to install the items with just the four of them, but luckily there was scaffolding and scissor lifts on site for them to use.
This project brought in a total revenue of $17,000.
