At Sign Partners, we make custom digital printed signs for an assortment of different applications. This article discusses our process of fabricating digitally printed signs, from start to finish, as well as some of the benefits of these types of signs, and a few of the more common types of digitally printed signs.

To make a digital printed sign, we first began with the substrate. The substrate is the base material of the sign that gives it its shape and rigidity, and can be made from  a variety of materials, including acrylic, aluminum and PVC.  We then print the custom graphics onto a vinyl layer, which we then apply to the substrate.  The vinyl layer also adds some additional strength and durability.  After the vinyl is applied, we finish the fabrication by applying a laminate coating, which adds a glossy finish to the sign and makes it waterproof so it will withstand the elements, and last for a long time. Depending on the application, the sign can then be installed or mounted in a variety of different ways, including with a wooden stake, or perhaps a post and panel system, as depicted in the pictures in this article.

Some of the places where you typically see these types of signs are in front of houses that are up for sale, in front of restaurants, at firework stands, on sidewalks in front of retail stores, and many other places. They are a very common type of sign for many reasons.

For example, someone who’s running for office, Mayor, or a position on a city council board, can afford to purchase hundreds or thousands of signs for posting in front of people’s homes to promote their campaign. A simple wooden stake, some staples, and the digitally printed custom sign is all that is needed. We print these types of signs in large volumes, so if you have any questions about marketing your next political campaign, or anything else, we can help.
