Custom Lobby Signs for the City
The City of Los Alamitos is a returning client. For this project, the client requested a 3D lobby sign that would be a personal message to visiting residents. As a result, the client did not want the city’s seal that you would typically associate with an official letterhead. The announcement was to read, “My City My Los Al,” with a heart between the two phrases.
Acrylic was an excellent material because it combines well with other signage products already in place at the location. We began the project by cutting half-inch-thick acrylic into the letter font the client selected. Next, we painted the pieces black. The color complements the room’s furnishings and the accents already there.
The final step was the installation. Our technicians stud-mounted the pieces to the wall, which gives the display a clean look. Now, this reception area sign is an excellent way of expressing the affection locals have for their city.
Which Signs Do Municipalities Typically Order?
Cities need signage just like businesses do. However, municipal sign demands are generally different. There are some products that are commonly bought by cities in Orange County.
Metal plaques. Plaques are excellent for commemorating events and building histories. Cast metal plaques look great in fire stations, police stations, and libraries to remember the location’s opening. Etched metal plaques remind visitors of specific events and are usually found in foyers and larger public areas.
Park signage. When we work with a parks department, the signage these officials request usually involves labeling a location’s name or offering insights into flora and fauna. In some cases, we use post and panel signs that are ideal for these uses.
Wayfinding markers. To guide visitors to court buildings, city hall, and other locations, wayfinding signs help with parking instructions. They direct foot traffic to specific floors.
