Nova Academy invited us to return to the campus and put together perforated window graphics in Santa Ana. Previously, we designed, fabricated, and installed custom wall graphics for the campus, word wall graphics for the workout room, and custom-printed wallpaper that focuses on educational success after graduation from the Academy.
Customer-Facing Vinyl Window Graphics Advertise the Academy and Support Its Brand Message
When we discussed this project with the client, we learned that there is a bank of windows facing a busy Santa Ana street. These glass panes are ideally suited to advertise the school and recruit students. Using window wraps made perfect sense.
Our technicians used perforated vinyl and applied an optically clear laminate. It protects the prints and prevents dust from settling into the perforation holes. Going this route also extends the life of the graphics dramatically.
Schools like using perforated vinyl because it offers the security of being able to see outside. That said, anyone walking past only sees the vibrant colors and letters of the advertising message. The client loved the good looks of the products, and we will head to Nova’s Coachella satellite campus for additional projects.
What is Perforated Vinyl? How Does It Differ from Opaque Vinyl?
Opaque vinyl consists of a solid surface. We use it to make window wraps and graphics that effectively bar the view into a facility (or out). In contrast, perforated vinyl has evenly spaced, tiny holes that allow natural light to come in. Concurrently, it allows anyone inside to see out while anyone outside only sees the imprinted message.
Are There Different Types of Perforated Vinyl?
Yes, there are! Our team prefers the 60/40 (60% vinyl and 40% perforations) products. We have found that they provide an acceptable ability to see out while still allowing for more intricate designs to be imprinted. That said, there are also 70/30 and 50/50 products. The former is excellent for highly intricate designs, but it does so at the cost of limiting the view. The latter greatly enhances the ability to see out, but some of the details of an intricate design will be lost to the perforations.
