The Santa Fe Springs Railroad Exhibit Gets a Historic Train Car Vinyl Mural Wrap Makeover
The railroad arrived in Fulton Wells in 1870, and it later changed its name to Santa Fe Springs. Today, you can see a historic railroad exhibit in Heritage Park. When the city contacted us, they wanted to talk about wrapping their historic train car with late-model 3M vinyl. In the past, the client commissioned a mural artist to paint the car. However, this time, the artist created a vector file of the mural and sent it to us to turn into a 3M cast vinyl wrap with a laminate.

Our shop is among the few in the area to undergo 3M’s rigorous training. The manufacturer worked with us to ensure we know how to select the right product for the project, test adhesion, and install vinyl wraps the right way, the first time – every time. This training came in handy when designing and installing the custom-designed train car vinyl mural wrap.
Notice how the train car has vertical ridges every 2.5 inches. We had to tuck the vinyl wrap into each ridge, which meant designing it so the graphic would look right and not lose any of its elements. Additionally, wrapping the vinyl around the side of the car meant dealing with wood. Of course, because we underwent 3M’s training, our graphic artist and installation technicians were able to handle the project from the initial design to fabrication and final installation.
Preserving History for Cities and Companies
Our team routinely works with companies to preserve their histories. For example, we have worked with CAiA Interiors to use the client’s graphics for a timeline wall photo layout. We then fabricated acrylic panels displaying historical dates alongside photos and collages. This history timeline wall graphic and plaque combination is a tangible retelling of a company’s history.
