Sound interesting?

If it does, you should take a look their website. They have a huge selection of flavors ranging from strawberry taffy to cereal to popcorn to cotton candy.

For a company so interesting and colorful, a typical sign just wouldn’t do.

In the pictures in this article, you can see the custom cable wall display that we made for them. These wall displays are made with a cabling system that enables us to place many signs in once place on a grid or any other type of layout that our client chooses. In this article, we’re cataloguing some of the steps in our process to make their wall display.CapellaCableWall_side_lo

IDEAS & DESIGN

The first step of the process was to go over the concept and develop initial designs and mockups for the wall display, which is the same for any other type of sign that we make. There is a huge selection when it comes to different sign products, so we like to sit down with our clients and discuss some of the basic things we need to know in order to do a great job for them.

We typically like to know if they have any ideas of what they want, or if they would like us to present some ideas on how to best brand or market their business. We also want to know where they might like their signs installed, and we can also suggest locations that we think would be optimal. Once we create mockups, and the client approves them, and we are ready for the next phase.

FABRICATION

For the fabrication phase on this project, we printed the graphics using our high resolution large-format digital printer. The graphics were then cut to size in order to fit to the 8” x 8” dimensions of each tile.  We use quality materials that won’t fade or warp over time.  The label artwork is displayed die-cut vinyl, applied to CablesClose_lo1/8″ thick frosted acrylic.  Organized in a layout intermixed with solid color tiles — that were created using clear acrylic, with the solid colors applied on the second surface.

INSTALLATION

First, the frame system is mounted to the wall. Depending on what material you are mounting to, typically either wood or metal, corresponding hardware is needed. Once the frame is in place, the cables can be mounted along it and stretched across a distance. For this client, the framework holds up 16 individual cable strands that are aligned in eight columns. But you can lay out your cable system in a variety of different configurations in order to achieve many different possible layouts.

These eight rows of cables hold up 40 different individual tiles, with five on each cable. Each tile features the label and artwork for 40 different flavors that they offer. They have over 90 flavors, according to their website, but 40 were chosen for this wall display.

Custom wall displays can be a great way to showcase products, services, testimonials from clients, and much more. If you have any questions about any type of sign for your business, we would be more than happy to help. Just give us a call.
