It was good to hear from the City of Carlsbad again. This longstanding customer wanted us to provide frosted vinyl wall graphics. Many of the city offices have glass walls, including the lobby in the main municipal building. It was decided to decorate this lobby with the City of Carlsbad logo to give the office the stamp of authority as well as some privacy for employees.
Sometimes, bright colors aren’t quite right for a particular environment. Frosted glass gives a subdued elegance to glass, which is attractive without shouting too loud. For many professional organizations this can be right on the button.

With the frosted effect you get a covering that is neither completely clear nor opaque. An etched glass adhesive creates the frosting, while sticking the graphic firmly to the glass. However, it must be applied very carefully to avoid bubbles between the two surfaces. Done well, it looks fantastic. With current graphics design software, there’s no logo or image that cannot be created this way. With large format printing available, vinyl wall graphics can be produced to any size.
Frosted vinyl wall graphics create a similar effect to etched or sandblasted glass. There are two major advantages to the vinyl adhesive. First of all, the pane of glass is unchanged and undamaged. If the lettering needs to change, then it’s simply a matter of removing the vinyl, reprinting and reapplying a fresh layer.
