Reviving an old sign can bring back the original beauty it once held. When our neighbor and client DJO Global asked us to help freshen their monument sign reface, we rose to the occasion. The current sign had faded from the elements, as the globe graphic was no longer as bright and representative of their brand. We surveyed the situation, and created new graphics to reface the faded sign, bringing back newness.
Often times, signage can be refaced, refreshed, or repaired at a fraction of the cost of building a brand new sign. Monument Sign Reface
DJO Global is a leader in the orthopedic devices industry, providing surgical reconstructive implant products around the globe. Quality is evident in all they do, and that same quality should be reflected in their signage. Consistent with their branding, we created the new graphic for the globe icon on this monument sign, using the same logo colors and resolution. A top-quality vinyl print with UV laminate would bring back the allure of this sign, at the entrance to their headquarters.
Our process begins with a site survey to see the monument sign reface project. We take photos, measurements, to use in our design proof. In some cases we take “rubbings” of the existing shape where we place a piece of large paper, and a charcoal pencil to trace the shape so we can precisely provide the same shape overlay. After we have properly gathered all the sign information needed, we can then create a design proof on the computer. Using the logo, we scaled the new globe graphic to the size to fit the existing image, and presented the proof and estimate to our client.
Monument Sign Refresh
After proof approval, production begins on the monument refresh project. Usually our turn around time is 5 business days for vinyl prints, but in this case, it was just a couple days.
We made sure to verify all the measurements – measure twice, cut once – and then we were ready for the installation.
Replacing the existing graphic, we provide a brand new shiny graphic in it’s place. The result is a stunning monument sign reface, refreshed to it’s original intent.
