Carlsbad, CA – New Location Signage for Leap Coffee
Expanding your business, especially during times like these, can be very nerve wracking as well as exciting! Leap Coffee, one of our current clients, has found their niche and is now opening a new location in the Carlsbad Mall. They found our services to be professional and affordable so they called us to help them with the new signage for their second store. A returning client always feels good, because it shows they trust us with their business and gives us another opportunity to help them continue to grow and keep our economy going.
Our team frequently processes sign permits, and drafted the permit with the City of Carlsbad, which has its own set of rules and standards. Thankfully, we have done signage in this mall before and are familiar with their requirements before we even look them up. Applying for and getting permits approved is part of the services we offer. Our goal is to make this as simple for the client as possible, so anything we can do to speed up the process as well as simplify for our client, that’s a plus! We also contacted the building’s landlord, as they often have additional or special rules for signage on top of the City’s request. Again, this is something we do every day, so for us, it is a fairly simple process.
Aluminum Building Sign
Our design team got to work on the signage proofs to be approved by the client. Then we received all the permit approvals needed to start production. All of our work is custom and for LEAP COFFEE we chose 1/4” thick non illuminated aluminum lettering, at 24” high. To accentuate the lettering, we painted the aluminum a beautiful matte black. Installation needed a glass drill bit on the wall tile. Part of our service also includes using a boom lift rental, which helps us reach those high places. To make sure our installation goes flawlessly we use a custom mounting template, studs, and 1/2” spacers. As a finishing touch and to make sure everything looks cohesive, we painted the spacers to match the wall tile. Yes, every details matters to us and we want our jobs to reflect the pride we take in the final outcome, a beautiful sign the reflects the business in the best way possible. When we were done with our part of this project, the client had commissioned a separate artist to paint a frog on the wall. As you can see from the photos, the finished project really came together nicely.
Not all clients want illuminated signs, but we can always take a non illuminated one and light it up at a later time if our client’s change their mind.
