Non-Illuminated Monument Sign

Non-Illuminated Monument Sign

Ever hear the saying, “There’s a church on every corner?” Well, how does yours stand apart from others? Monument signage is a key factor in whether or not people are able to locate and differentiate what kind of services a church offers. Churches play an important role in every community, often being a place of refuge during times of disaster or need. So when Las Flores Church contacted us about helping them with a new non-illuminated monument sign, we got right to work checking on city codes, as well as discussing the requirements of the church staff/leadership board.

Due to a growing congregation, they needed to move from their smaller location that started back in 1947 with only 22 people, to now a much larger building on two acres in Carlsbad. The same passion that started so many years ago continues to be what drives them today, love as a church community reaching out to their community any way they can.

Our Design and Production Team went to work designing and Fabricating an Exterior sign that would endure in the outdoor elements and last for years to come. Since the sign wasn’t going to be illuminated, we wanted to make sure the background was light and easy to see, so we painted it white. It’s a large monument, standing at 45″ tall by 96″ wide. To make sure the sign would be durable, we fabricated it using aluminum. Las Flores uses three Pantone colors in their logo We used those same colors to paint acrylic letters that were 1/2″ thick. We then stud mounted them flush to the top portion of the monument, making them easy to see. We poured a concrete base for stability and we know that this monument sign will last for generations.

In additional to installing signs, often our job includes removing old signage. Once we have completed the demolition and removal of all the construction pieces, we then poured the concrete pad with new posts. Everything required permits from the City of Carlsbad which we had already submitted and acquired prior to starting. These are just some of the processes included in our full service at North Coast Signs. We like to make sure we handle everything for the client so they don’t have to worry about the details.

We’re so happy with the end result. With each stage of the process we kept the church in the loop so they would know what to expect giving them a peace about the time frame and production of their sign. We love to work along side our clients and see their faces light up when their new signage is complete.
