Over the years, our client base has grown to include so many industries. One of our new clients, TRU Simulation in Carlsbad, joined our aviation clientele and we love to work with them. A great asset to have in Carlsbad, TRU Simulation + Training delivers innovative, total aviation training solutions to business aviation and rotorcraft markets while providing superior technical support and customer service. They also offer Cessna Citation training – in both Carlsbad and Tampa. When they came to us, they showed us a newly designed logo and wanted to reflect the updated branding with a new lobby sign at their Carlsbad location. When we stopped by to see where the sign would be installed, we realized this would be a bit more challenging since it was going on a wall that was curved, but this is why our clients come to us, because we have the knowledge and experience to deal with such issues. We took our measurements and met with our Design Team on how we best felt the sign should be. This tech client needed a lobby sign that would shine and we weren’t about to let them down.

Tru Simulation’s logo was beautifully designed and took some extra thought as the logo was cut in half with half the logo being one color, and the other half being a different color. In keeping their branding consistent, we had to keep their sign the same so off we went to our Design Team. Thankfully after some great creative work, we came up with an idea that they immediately approved. We now moved on to the production side while our installation team got busy removing and cleaning up where the old sign was.
To really make Tru Simulation’s logo shine, we took the top half of their logo and manufactured the “TRU” in 2” thick steel with Lexan back material with L brackets, stud mounted with spacers and illuminated with UL certified white LEDs using a 60 watt power supply standard. For the bottom half we used bushed silver to match the new logo. ‘Simulation + Training’ was fabricated in 3/4” thick acrylic, painted standard black and stud mounted with spacers. The phrase ‘A Textron Company’ was created in 3/8” thick acrylic, also painted standard black and flush mounted with VHB tape. The final installation of the logo sign included a custom drill pattern, studs, spacers, and VHB tape to ensure the sign is appropriately mounted and will last for a long time to come. All of our teams working together really make for a professional final presentation.
