Take a look at the picture to the left. This amazing display is a cable wall system that we made for our client Renovate America. We’re North Coast Signs, and we specialize in all kinds of custom signage and graphic design, including cable wall systems like this one. In fact, Renovate America contacted us because they saw an article on our website about a similar cable wall system that we installed for another client, and wanted one – a much larger one – for their corporate lobby.
Renovate America wanted to showcase their hero program, which helps homeowners with energy efficiency financing solutions. In an excerpt from their website, “We created the HERO Financing Program, which has now become the fastest growing energy efficiency financing solution in the country. With over $100 Million in funded projects in the Program’s first 18 months, it is setting records nationwide.”
In order to get all of the seal images to line up evenly, we installed the upper and lower rails so that each column of printed seals could be slid along the track and aligned perfectly. As you can see in the pictures in this article, the result turned out great.
To make the cable wall system, first we created a few samples of different tiles, so they could really get an idea of what the end result would look like. They chose 8″ x 8″ frosted acrylic tiles, each printed with a City Seal in matte laminate, and contour cut. Then we assembled the display in columns, with 8 tiles per column, mounting the acrylic tiles onto aluminum cables, mounted to the rails.
Another benefit of cable systems is that you can keep adding to them. As the Hero Program continues, Renovate America adds columns, featuring additional city seals. This is an ‘expansive system’ in that it allows for growth, and is perfect for things like the Hero Program, as well as sponsorship walls, sporting events and championships, annual awards winners, and other applications.
