Take a quick look at the pictures in this article. This is a custom sign that we made for a client of ours here in Carlsbad, California. We work with businesses all across San Diego County and beyond, but also truly enjoy working with local businesses here in our community.
About Our Customer
When we make a sign for a local business, part of that process is getting to know them. That’s why every time we write about sign we’ve made, we like to include a little bit about our client. This sign was made for West Inn & Suites Hotel, and they are an upper scale hotel that features nice rooms and great amenities. One of the amenities that they offer is a breakfast buffet.
About the Sign
This sign is a ‘breakfast sign’ that is located on their countertop at their breakfast buffet bar. It provides basic information about the service times for the breakfast bar. Although it is a relatively small sign, that is not quite as simple as it may seem.
Many different types of sign products could have worked for creating a small sign to be put on the countertop. But in this case, the sign would be placed at the buffet bar where a lot of customers would be walking through. With plates in hand, and crowds sometimes forming, mistakes are bound to happen. So West Inn & Suites wanted to make sure that they would have a great-looking sign that would also stand up to the test of time. They wanted a sign that wouldn’t get damaged if something were spilled on it, or if somebody accidentally knocked it over.
To make a sign that would stand up to that kind of wear and tear, we printed high resolution graphics (giclée print) on 1/8 inch aluminum, which is stiff enough to stand up to just about anything except for stomping on it. It has a protective coating that is placed over the top of the print in order to protect the graphics underneath.
The printed panel was then mounted onto a brushed aluminum frame stand.
When it comes to working with hotels, or any other business for that matter, it really comes down to finding out their individual needs. There are so many different types of sign products to sort through that if you don’t have an expert that knows all the ins and outs, you will most likely find yourself lost in a sea of options. That’s why we offer all of our new customers the option to sit down with us so we can help identify the best solution from all the choices.
Sometimes the most expensive option isn’t always the best. And vice versa, sometimes the most inexpensive option isn’t the wisest choice. It’s about finding out where the sign will go, what it will be used for, and what the ultimate goal is. From there we can figure out what works best within our client’s budget, and what sign products will accomplish the ultimate goal of the sign.
