We received a call from Williams Tax & Financial Group in Los Angeles, California. They were looking for a sign company that could create a new lobby sign for their office. They had an existing lobby sign, but they had recently finalized a new logo design and were anxious to update the indoor sign accordingly. You can see their new logo sign in the pictures in this article.

To get a better idea of the style of sign they wanted, we went out to their location to get measurements of the wall space and to speak with the president of the company. If the client doesn’t already have desired measurements for the sign, we like to get the measurements of the space, whether we get them or the customer sends them to us, so we can lay out a size for a sign that will look good in the space. Even if the customer already has measurements called out, we like to verify that the sign will work with the sign area.

The client decided on an acrylic backer panel sign with metal dimensional letters. To give the acrylic panel a frosted glass look, we applied etched vinyl to the back. We also like to add this when we want to create a solid background for the logo. For example, if the sign is going onto a textured wall like brick or different colored tile, the logo can get lost in the wall. The logo and letters were routed from 3/8″ thick aluminum with a horizontal brushed grain. Brushed aluminum is very popular for lobby signs, and the reason we do a horizontal grain is because that is the way that your eyes naturally go when reading horizontal letters.
