It’s easy for us to come up with a sign design or give recommendations on what would work best for your business and logo. The hard part is getting all of the needed permissions to put the sign up. The city itself has regulations we need to adhere to regarding size limitations, location, etc. But before we even get started on city permitting, we need to have the proof signed off by the client and their landlord.
Let’s Travel, a travel agency in Santa Monica, California, had reached out to us for a few building signs. They had gone through a logo change, and merged with another company so they needed new signs with their new logo, and “A Plaza Travel Company”. The design was easy to figure out as they provided us with their logo file and where they wanted the signs. After visiting the location to get all of the necessary measurements, we were able to provide renderings for 3 logo signs in total, two in the front and one in the rear of the building where the parking lot was. The office is upstairs but there was no signage showing that so we were going to have a logo sign with an arrow pointing up the stairs.
The client was very happy with how the signs were going to look, but unfortunately, there were some restrictions through the landlord that we were not aware of. We needed to make some adjustments regarding the quantity of the signs in the front, and the size of the sign in the back. As you can see from the photos, we were able to get one logo sign approved in the front, and a sign in the back directing customers to go up the stairs for Let’s Travel’s office.
We weren’t able to get everything the client wanted approved, but sometimes you have to work with regulations from landlords and cities and meet in the middle for signage that everyone is happy with.
