665 Inc. reached out to us after finding our company online. They were looking for a custom sign company to make some signs for their tradeshow booth. As you can see from the photos, we made a total of three signs. Two lighted signs for either side of the display, and a non-illuminated sign for the middle section. The lighted signs are custom illuminated channel letter cabinet signs that display their company name/logo, and the non-illuminated sign is a mounted digital print on gatorboard that displays their logo and tagline.
The client wanted a sign that could be mounted to their existing fixture that displayed the merchandise. The reason why we made them an illuminated channel letter cabinet sign is because they wanted the company name to illuminate. There are two main ways to illuminate a channel letter/cabinet sign which are front-lit and reverse-lit. Front-lit means that the face lights up and reverse-lit means that the light comes out of the back and shines onto whatever the sign is mounted onto such as a wall or backer panel. Since the company name was to light up, we made a sign with metal returns and backs, with a translucent acrylic face. The green area is a digital print on translucent vinyl and the black areas are black car wrap vinyl so only the green area lights up.
We made this sign a plug-in sign since it needed to be transported and hooked up to electricity on-site. We normally hardwire signs into walls because they are permanently going to stay there, but we also have the capability of providing a power cord and plug for these types of situations. The cord exits the rear of the signs so once the display is in place, all they need to do it plug it in.
The print in the middle didn’t need to light up so we digitally printed the artwork that was provided by the client onto vinyl, laminated it for protection, and mounted it onto black Gatorboard. Gatorboard is lightweight and relatively inexpensive so it is a great choice for tradeshows.
