A local Baptist church in Canoga Park, California had reached out to us to redo some of their existing signs and to get new signs. We made a series of exterior signs that included a post and panel sign, dimensional letter sign, office signs, directional signs, and classroom signs along with the parking lot entrance sign that we will be going over today. First Baptist Church of Canoga Park already had an existing parking lot entrance sign that had been up for a while so they were looking to replace it to match the other exterior signs they were getting. We made a mounted digital print sign that was mounted onto sibond and installed with screws.
As the lettering or logo didn’t need to be raised, we digitally printed the information rather than using dimensional letters. Their previous sign used pre-colored vinyl which was starting to peel. Vinyl can endure weather conditions pretty well we could see that this sign was up for a while and due for an update. We used digital prints for the logo because there were so many different colors involved. For the black lettering, we just used black vinyl as it will last longer than digitally printing black. We usually prefer to use pre-colored vinyl for outdoor signs because it will last longer than a print, however, the colors offered are not customizable like a print is so it’s better to go with a digital print if the client needs a specific color.
Another issue with pre-colored vinyl is that even if we are able to find color matches that the client is happy with, we need to purchase an entire roll for each color. As there are so many colors involved in the logo and not that much of it, a digital print was the most economical solution.
