We make custom signage that can’t be found in a catalog. This is why Skydance Productions in Santa Monica reached out to us for their unique office identification signs. As you can see from the photos, these signs have a lot of depth. The signs are made from 3/4″ thick green glass acrylic and have tactile lettering. Green glass acrylic is not a standard acrylic, however, we were able to find it for these signs because the client wanted something very specific. The great thing about hiring a custom manufacturer is that we have many different resources and methods to create the signs you visualize for your business.

The acrylic is not opaque and you can see through it, so we applied white vinyl second surface. Front to back, the layers of the sign are the letters, the acrylic, vinyl, and then the wall. This way, you can’t see the VHB and silicone we used to mount the signs onto the wall. Some of the signs were installed on glass so we applied another layers of white vinyl on the other side of the glass so you couldn’t see the adhesives from inside of the room.

As opposed to vinyl or painted copy, these signs have tactile lettering so those with vision impairment can feel the numbers and letters to read them. Room identification signs are also made from non-glare material so they can be read easily, and are installed at specific heights and locations which make sense for people to read or feel. For example, signs with tactile lettering and Braille are installed right next to the doorknob on the side that the door opens. You will not see a sign with tactile lettering and Braille on a door because it is not safe for someone with vision impairment to be reading a sign on a surface that will move.

There are many details that go into interior signage, and we have many years of experience to help make you signage that will be best for your company. Give us a call today to get started on your custom office signs.
