If you are a business that will have visitors, you want to invest in an interior logo sign to put in the lobby or waiting area. Folk Williams Financial is an existing client of ours that we have made interior signage for in the past and they wanted a new lobby sign done along with a wall graphic. They were building out the interior of their office so they were able to create designated walls for the interior signage they wanted. In the lobby, they made a slightly curved wall to display a logo sign. In another area of the office, they left a blank wall for a full wall graphic. The artwork was digitally printed onto car wrap material and applied directly onto the wall. For graphics going on interior drywall, we prefer to use vehicle wrap material as opposed to vinyl because it sticks to the wall much better.
The lobby sign was made from brushed aluminum. The letters and pieces of the logo were routed from a sheet of brushed aluminum. The logo and larger letters were made from 1/2″ thick brushed aluminum and for the rest of the sign we used 3/8″. Using material that is too thick for small letters can make them look chunky, so we need to adjust accordingly. Alternatively, using material that is too thin for a large piece can make it very fragile.
The sign was mostly mounted with 1/2″ spacers with the exception of the smallest letters, “EST. 1958”. These were mounted flush with studs due to the size. Although we would physically be able to mount them with spacers, the letters were so small that you would be able to see the spacers from the front. There are many small details that go into lobby signs and there are new challenges with every logo. This is why you want to hire an experienced custom sign company like Resource 4 Signs to manufacture and install your custom signage.
