\"\" \"\"When a client is interested in getting a logo sign<\/a>, there are usually many different ways that we can go about it. Specialized Orthopedic Solutions in Chatsworth, California found us online and reached out to us for a logo sign in their reception area. The logo that the client provided initially had “SPECIALIZED ORTHOPEDIC SOLUTIONS” and the bars in black, with the green “SOS” behind it. Many logos will layer lettering or components of the logo like this because it is easy to do in 2-D, but when we need to make this 2-dimensional logo into a 3-dimensional sign, we need to get creative to figure out the best way that we can make the sign while staying true to the logo.<\/p>\n

\"\"The client wanted to make the black lettering and the bars metallic, so we decided to flat-cut them from 1\/4″ thick horizontal brushed aluminum. Metal can have many different finishes, but the brushed\u00a0finish is usually the most common. The reason we use horizontal grain is that it’s easier on the eyes as the lettering is read from side to side rather than up and down. We flat-cut the “SOS” letters from 1\/4″ thick acrylic and custom painted it to match the logo’s green. We installed these letters flush to the wall. The brushed aluminum letters were stud mounted with 1\/4″ spacers, so it sits right on top of the acrylic letters to mimic the logo.<\/p>\n

The graphic of the person running was digitally printed onto vinyl, laminated, contour cut, and laid onto 3mm thick sibond. Sibond is a substrate that we use for many of our interior and exterior signs. It is a sheet of black polycarbonate sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum. It is a very rigid substrate that works great as a backer for many different purposes. The print was just mounted with VHB and silicone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
