\"\" \"\" Woodland Hills United Methodist Church occupies an entire block in West Hills, so it is natural that they would have a lot of signage. They have a total of three monument signs, on the north, south, and west sides of the property. We performed an LED conversion for the monument sign at the south entrance, and completely redid the monument sign at the west entrance. The existing monument sign was a readerboard sign that had to be changed manually. They wanted to update it to an LED readerboard. They provided the LED readerboard and needed us to fabricate the new monument sign that would hold the readerboard, add extra footing to support the new monument sign, handle the permitting, and install the new sign.<\/p>\n

We built them a completely new sign that was essentially comprised of two double-sided cabinets that held the LED readerboard in the middle. The sign was to be supported by\u00a0existing steel tubes that were going to be visible in the original design, however, the city required us to add a skirt around the bottom so in the final design, the sign is just one rectangular piece.<\/p>\n

\"\"\"\"When it comes to new exterior signs, a sign permit is required which is why we needed to make changes per the city’s request. The first approval we get is the customer’s, then the landlord, and then the city in that order. If anything needs to be changed along the way, we need to update the proofs to reflect the changes and get approvals again starting with the customer and ending with the city until we are able to secure the sign permit. This particular sign also required us to go through Engineering. This is the case with many monument signs and sometimes with building signs that are going to be installed on an awning or is going to extend past the building height.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
