When You Do Not Need Building Letters with Greater Depths, Flat-Cut Acrylic Works Well
Frequently, business owners have the advantage of height. They do not need to draw attention to their location by having lettering that juts out. For this reason, they might decide against channel letters and instead opt for flat-cut material. The 10X Academy, for example, had a tall facade that was ideally suited for featuring larger letters. As a result, they asked our shop to use flat-cut, half-inch-thick acrylic. It looks excellent and does a fantastic job of impressing with the height and width of the lettering.
Combine Multiple Depths in One Signage Setup
Another excellent example of using flat-cut 3D signs for businesses is to combine multiple depths. We had an opportunity to work for a merchant at the Mercado Shopping Center. One set of letters spells out the name. We used aluminum to create non-lit channel letters. However, for the tagline, we followed up with half-inch-thick acrylic displayed at the height of three inches. The combination of the larger and smaller letters is eye-catching and visually attractive.
