Storage
Because cloth may be transported when folded, rather than rolled, you can store it more easily in less space.
While a 6’ wide vinyl banner forms a 6’ roll which may be challenging to maneuver, that same size fabric banner sign may be folded and carried in a grocery bag, or it can be stored in a shoebox on top of a shelf. It’s particularly helpful while traveling, or while shipping event materials. A traditional box will ship a lot more cheaply than a 6’ or 8’ foot long tube.
Camera Flash
Vinyl does have its benefits, but in situations where inside photography is involved, it may present an issue. Because vinyl is plastic, its surface is somewhat reflective, and the light reflection causes issues in conditions in which flash photography is being used.
On the other hand, cloth absorbs camera flashes, so photos will come out cleaner and a lot more naturally.
