IMG_0838We received a call from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) recently. They needed signs to be made and they needed them on a tight timetable. They were moving from their South Side location to downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and didn’t have a whole lot of time before they needed to open their doors. So we sprang into action and got to work.

In the photos in this article, you can see the signage that we made for them. Besides making the signs look great and having a high level of impact, they also wanted to make sure to adequately brand their new office space and display some of their most important messages. The red background with white lettering creates a significant contrast that has a lot of impact, looks great and is easy to read.

Julie Heverly is the Executive Director of the American Diabetes Association in Pittsburgh and we really enjoyed working with her throughout this project. Their mission is “to prevent and cure diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes,” so we were proud to be working with such a great association that touches so many people with this disease.

It was important for us to utilize sign products that would be high impact but that did not require a lot of time to manufacture. For example, the wall graphics were made by installing high-quality white vinyl directly onto the surface of the newly painted red wall in the conference room. The vinyl is adhered to the surface of the wall but can be removed or changed out easily.

Wall graphics like these don’t take very much time to fabricate and install, and they can transform an entire wall space. We can print high-resolution graphics of any kind onto a material that is then adhered directly to the surface of the wall, creating a custom graphic that stretches from the ceiling to the floor. You can’t get much more impact than a huge wall mural.

Their lobby sign also looks great, featuring white acrylic against the red wall. We used 1″ silver standoffs to give the sign more pop. Standoffs can be mounted between any type of sign and wall to give it a third dimension and “standoff” from the wall. Standoffs are a great and inexpensive way to add a little bit more pop to a sign. And in a lobby or waiting area, pop and high-impact are a must. The lobby or waiting area is often the first place that a client or customer sees when entering your offices or business. A great-looking lobby sign a great way to make a good first impression and look professional.
