We were contacted by a new company in the North Hills to mark the
spot for their grand opening in July. Kidzville, an interactive indoor play space for children with a relaxing coffee shop for parents and caretakers, was retrofitting a space at Mt. Nebo Pointe and needed an illuminated channel letter sign for the exterior wall of their building.
We received an inquiry from the client, and it was clear that she needed a channel letter sign with raceway. In fact, her landlord required it; raceways are mounting systems that allow for fewer attachment points to the building, ultimately preserving the clean look of a building. With that said, having the type of the sign already determined allowed us to begin our process straight on the drawing board. We designed multiple artwork options that could fit on to a raceway, and our client decided on an option that utilized the brand’s font. We added LEDs to the inside of each letter to make it jump out at any passerby at Mt. Nebo Pointe.
As a new business, Kidzville wanted to make a big impression on potential customers and large lighted channel letters are an excellent way to accomplish that. Exterior illuminated LED signs are bold, bright and easy to read from long distances. They are also an important part of a retail company’s marketing strategy and may be a factor in attracting customers, particularly in a busy shopping complex such as Mt. 
Nebo Pointe, which has strong tenant anchors like Target and Sam’s Club.
Being located in a retail hotspot, Kidzville’s need to communicate a strong brand identity was vital. Channel letters can be manufactured in almost any size and font, so enlarging the brand’s font to create the sign’s channel letters was simple. We took it a step further by matching the brand’s colors with the illumination of the sign. Channel letters can be lighted by LEDs or traditional neon. We choose to use LEDs because they are more energy efficient. Using an energy efficient option ultimately allows our customer to save money.
With the ability to match any color, font or size, channel letters are a great choice to be used on retail storefronts, banks, restaurants, commercial buildings, and schools.
