Recently, we were asked to design and install a commercial wrap on a locker system for Texas A&M University. They had just installed a new package delivery locker system for the students and they wanted to brand the system.  We started with a hand drawn sketch from the customer as to their design request along with color specifications, text requirements, and of course logo design.

A project like this starts with the design of the system.  We need manufacturing measurements and layouts so we can make sure that any design isn’t lost because it falls over a seam or the logo lands on the touchscreen.  Once we get those, we create a designers proof that is a complete representation of what the final product will look like.  Our customer reviews the proof and makes any changes to the colors or placement of the information. Another proof.  We will create as many proofs as needed to get the design exactly like what our customer wants.

Once we have approval, we decide what type of material to use for the job.  In this case, we have done many of these systems so we know exactly what type of material will give us the wear and tear we need but not sacrifice the vibrant colors.

Before we print the wrap, we check the colors against the corporate file to make sure we have the correct colors, then we send it to the printer. This job requires that we laminate the print to add the protective layer between the print and anyone touching the print.  This keeps the color looking great for a long time. Next, we table the print and cut the material to exact width and length.

The last step we take is to quality check the print. We look for imperfections in the vinyl, the ink or the laminate.  We also check the print against the color palate. If the print clears QC, it is packaged and shipped to the customer.
