Freestanding illuminated cabinet signs are a great option for any business looking to display their company from the front of a building. Unlike illuminated channel letters which are mounted directly onto a building face, freestanding illuminated cabinets stand alone and often hold tenet panels for one or more businesses of a building complex. They are typically made of an aluminum body with fluorescent lamps. Once constructed, the aluminum base can have a stucco finish to make it appear more polished and cohesive to the building it is accompanying. These signs can be painted in any color. The sign face itself is made of acrylic or polycarbonate and can have cut or printed vinyl graphics displaying company logos or artwork. These signs are cost effective alternatives to larger monument signs and illuminated channel letters.
Recently, City Signs was contacted by Western Air Supply in San Jose, CA. They were looking for a new sign for the front of their building. Together with the customer, we concluded their best option would be a freestanding illuminated cabinet. The sign was constructed out of aluminum and treated with a Texcoat finish to give it a completed stucco finish. We printed vinyl graphics of the company logo and applied them to acrylic faces. Note from the photograph above that this became an ideal sign for Western Air Supply as it can be seen from the road and it was also the most cost-effective solution for the business.
