The team at John Daugherty Realtors of Houston gave us a call to help design and install a single sided post and panel sign. Fairly simple in construction, post and panel signs are created with posts attached to a panel. They are very common signs, especially in new construction sites. Most are made of MDO or Max-Metal (di-bond), can be single or double sided, and are installed with wooden or metal posts.

The client needed a sign that could withstand the high heat temperatures and intense rain of Houston while their new development was being built. We chose a higher performance vinyl rather than the the traditional calendered economical vinyl to extend the life of the sign. We used a 4’w x 8’h piece of ½” MDO which was painted white on the front and unfinished on the back for the panel and the posts were 4×4 treated wood.

The client wanted the graphic to include an artist’s rendering of how their new housing development would look, the contact information for the realtor, and 5 logos of the company’s representing the project. Our experienced designer had no problem creating a graphic that incorporated all these features while aesthetically pleasing to all viewers who would drive by.

Most post and panel signs utilize the entire sheet of substrate or material panel which is 4’x8’ and can be quite heavy. The posts should be anchored in with concrete to prevent the sign from falling down. Although its more expensive than concrete, we use Sika Polyurethane fence post mix. It is a superior product that is much easier to use, lightweight, sets up quickly and no water is needed. This also helps the sign to withstand our Houston weather quite confidently.

Although a typical 4’x8’ post and panel sign is rather simple to install, we do not underestimate safety. We plan accordingly with pre-install site surveys, taking into account the safe and most efficient ways to do our installs before we even leave for the site. And since we are already familiar with our local weather, we were prepared with the best materials for the job. The client couldn’t have been more pleased with the end result!

Our team of experts take great pride in their sign creations from design to install having multiple quality control checks throughout the process. Our team members have the knowledge and patience to educate while also listening to the client. Give us a call today and we’ll prove it! 832-222-9385
