Downtown Dental has long believed in providing the best dental experience in Nashville. They focus on educating their patients rather than pressuring them into unnecessary procedures, and it has earned them the trust of hundreds and hundreds of Nashvillians. In fact, Dr. Clark was recently named Nashville’s TOP DENTIST by Nashville Lifestyles Magazine. It’s no surprise that their exceptional health care and patient-first mentality has attracted this kind of recognition.

So when a terrible storm damaged Downtown Dental’s second-story sign, and a client of theirs referred us, we seized the opportunity to help.

Production for Downtown Dental

One of the big challenges we faced when approaching this project was a lack of resources. Downtown Dental wanted us to recreate their old sign – which they’d had for years – but they did not have access to the original artwork, files, or plans. This meant recreating the imagery the “old fashioned way.” We literally held up paint swatches to their other signage to nail down the shades and the tonality of their existing branding.

Our solution was wood. We took our machine cut sign and carved out the lettering by hand – giving the characters a deep, dimensional look. Additionally, we used a gorgeous two-tone paint that we applied by hand as well. Lastly, we sandblasted the sign, accenting the relief lettering and borders beautifully.

The Product for Downtown Dental

In total, our Downtown Dental sign took only two weeks to design, implement, and install. The result is both familiar and fresh sign that welcomes Downtown Dental’s patients – existing and prospective. The quality of their new sign echoes the quality of their work, and that’s the most important piece.
