Ironwood Manufacturing produces a number of shipping crates to protect their high end products through shipping logistics. It is the desire of Ironwood manufacturing to enhance their image by introducing large crate labels that reflect product quality they produce. To obtain labels below a 12” x 12” size threshold is easy as there are many vendors capable of doing such. Designing and delivering on labels larger than 12” x 12” is a whole new ballgame. Attaching any label to any surface may require some work to best understand how the adhesives properly adhere to the surface. In some cases a peel and stick is more than adequate to adhere to the crate surface. In other cases, additional adhesive may be applied to the surface area to create higher tac strength especially in rough cut wood surfaces. In other cases an intermediate material serves to hold that label and that in turn is attached to the crate surface through specialized adhesives or attached through screws. The method to attach a label is as diverse as the applications themselves.
