Recently, we had a couple of different companies call us about having great signs made for their businesses. They both had similar needs and requests, so we ultimately came up with the decision to create HDU (or high density urethane) signs because their professional look was perfect for each of these companies. Installed just outside of their doors, these signs now offer their customers the assurance that they are in exactly the right place.
You can tell just by looking at these photos that these signs are beautiful additions to the buildings. They are just as durable as they are eye-catching. We came up with the idea to make all black signs with sleek gold lettering so it would really stand out against the light colored walls of each building. From further away these signs look like they could be made of wood, but HDU is an excellent alternative that is easier to work with.
Having only been introduced to the sign industry a couple of decades ago, it has become a staple in the world of creating signs. The popularity of high density urethane comes from the fact that it is much easier to carve than wood by using basic hand tools. Unlike wood, HDU will last for years and withstand a number of potentially devastating conditions because of its dimensional stability – it will not decay or swell in the Florida humidity. Another great feature of HDU is that it is more cost-effective, not to mention environmentally friendly.
