Signs PDQ, Of Willoughby, Ohio, received a call from a representative from The Federal Reserve Bank in Cleveland. They contacted us asking for a sign solution to their current project. Don O’Toole met with the marketing rep at the project site downtown. It was determined that the project consisted of room signs on various floors that had recently been renovated.
These room signs needed to have an upscale look while having the ability to change the name of the room or the occupant of the room. Signs PDQ immediately thought of curved framed signs with clear lenses. You can see these signs pictured below.
The total number of signs manufactured was almost 400. These signs will be adhered to the wall in two ways. The first is using VHB (Very High Bond) tape, shown in the photos with the red stripes adhered to the back. Be careful when adhering the signs to the walls…you only get one chance! The other method of adhering the signs is by using Rare Earth Magnets that are shown in the photos as small metallic squares. These magnets are strong enough to use on walls where they will stick through cubicle wall fabric.
Each individual sign had to be received and inspected. Taking the sign from its original packaging, add tape or magnets, clean them off and finally, organize them by future location. Each of these steps must be completed correctly in order for installation to be completed correctly. The customer is important in this transaction because they will be printing the information of name or room type that will be inserted inside the frame. They will be able to update this info easily. Once this is completed they will install the signs according to the ADA recommendations.
