R. F. Hazard Elementary School is located at 4218 Hazard Avenue in Santa Ana and is part of the Garden Grove Unified School District. Hazard Elementary is a recipient of the PBIS Platinum Award and has been named one of the best public elementary schools in the country. Recently, the administration invited our team to design, produce, and install bilingual word wall graphics for the facility.
Using Word Wall Graphics for Schools to Communicate and Brand
The administration was referred to us by another school in the district for which we had done some work. The client explained that they had students speaking various languages – mainly English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. They wanted custom-designed word wall graphics that would reflect these languages.
Moreover, they wanted these languages represented in the same graphics. Could we do it? You bet! While most wall wraps and decals for schools display one language, you do not have to limit yourself. We can incorporate two, three, or more languages. For this project, we spelled our brand-related terms, such as “Gratitude” and “Honesty,” in three languages. We incorporated the school’s colors and placed its mascot in the middle.
The result is a fantastic trilingual word wall wrap that appeals to all students.
Appreciating the Messaging Power of Word Wall Graphics for Schools
Our team does a lot of work for schools in and around Orange County. Word walls are a popular request because the schools can pack many messages into just one graphic. Moreover, the word wall creates an excellent brand-centric display that can be student and visitor-focused.
- Mission and vision. For example, the Bolsa Grande High School administration envisioned using terms that would incorporate its mission and vision statements. The finished product incorporates terms such as “Resourceful” and “Hard-Working.”
- Multilingual representation of school spirit. The administration at Ernest O. Lawrence Elementary School tasked us with bilingual word wall graphics to reinforce the school spirit. The target languages focused on a word wall with English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese language inclusion. Terms we worked with included “Try Your Hardest” and “Persistence Means Never Giving Up.”
- Student-athlete motivation. We also do work for colleges and universities. A case in point is Santa Ana College, which was looking for a word wall, motivating football players with the school’s athletic values. Selected words included “Teamwork” and “Confidence.”
Word Wall Wraps and Decals are Also Popular in Business
Of course, word walls are not just popular for schools. We also did custom word wall graphics for clients who fully customized the look and meaning of the selected terms. We can combine the word wall with graphics for an innovative display if you like. What could your word wall look like? Do you have a set of terms to use, or would you like us to assist you with the design? Call us today to discuss the project!
