Do you remember the concession kiosk vinyl wraps we did for Cal State Fullerton? The CSUF Titan Shops bookstore manager has moved to UC Riverside. After settling in, they noticed that the school had a serious need for new facility signs in Riverside, and they called us to take on the project.
Replacing Outdated School Signs for the UC Riverside Facilities Services Department
After discussing the project’s scope with the client, we received the specs that consisted of the color palette, font selection, overall brand style guide, and element spacing. With these details in hand, our technicians worked on designing and fabricating durable and easy-to-read signs for school facilities in Riverside.
Aluminum Building Signs Provide the Durability and Brand Presentation Clients Look For
Working with aluminum anytime that a building sign is needed makes sense. The material does not rust, is impervious to insect damage, withstands plenty of sunshine, and will not bow or bend because of temperature fluctuations. For these school facilities services signs, the backdrops are dark blue while the lettering is white and dark yellow, in keeping with UC Riverside’s brand preferences. Since some signage would be installed on walls with a ridged exterior appearance, we cut the panels with these measurements in mind. Look closely, and notice that we included the school’s name and logo on the signs. This step helps integrate the products with the already existing signage on and around the campus.

For this project, we dealt with ribbed metal and concrete walls. There were also different types of siding. Installers will adapt their mounting methods based on the surface they are dealing with. Moreover, technicians check the walls ahead of time to customize the signage with this information in mind.
We installed the products for this project to ensure secure mounting. For other wall surfaces, there is an option to use standoffs. They create some separation between the wall and the building’s facade. The opposite is also true. Some clients prefer that we flush-mount their products. However, the walls need to be flat for us to do that. Bricks, lumber siding, and corrugated exteriors do not work well for a flush mount.
