BauhausBarSignA small scale business sign goes to work for this craft brewery at local events in Minneapolis.

One of our customers, Bauhaus Brew Labs, asked us to create a miniature version of a huge directional sign we did for the exterior of their brewery. They had an event coming up called the Brew Dabbler and the sign would be placed on a makeshift bar where they’d be serving their new craft beers.

We made the arrow out of 1” ePVC and the letters for Bauhaus out of ¼” ePVC.  The Brew Labs type is simply cut vinyl applied to the arrow. After routing the arrow and letters out of the PVC we went to the local Sherwin Williams store and matched the paint to the customer’s specific PMS yellow. Using our hand held Graco spray gun we applied two coats of paint to the arrow and letters.

We reached out to Kreative Acrylics, just across the parking lot from our office in Golden Valley, to make the acrylic pieces that add dimension and call attention to the Bauhaus name.  The acrylic was attached to the arrow using 3M VHB clear tape; the Bauhaus letters were applied using some VHB and dabs of silicone adhesive.

BauhausSignPkgKnowing that this sign would be used sporadically and handled often, we put industrial strength Velcro to hold the arrow to the bar.  This way they could remove it and reattach it easily as well as safely package, store and transport it as much as needed.

A lot of custom design and hand labor went into this event sign, but we feel the attention to detail and quality of workmanship is worth it for our clients. No two signs are the same and each is a challenge, but that’s what makes the sign business so exciting! (Not to mention free beer samples on occasion.)
